Tether Legal
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tether handles. In short: you can play without an account. Optional analytics stay off unless you turn them on. If you sign in, we keep the minimum needed to sync your progress and run daily leaderboards. Tether shows ads from Google AdMob.
Tether is a puzzle game operated by Vexellab Solutions LLP (“Vexellab”, “we”, “us”). You fill every light cell of a board with rune-anchored pieces across hand-made worlds, daily challenges and events.
Campaign levels, daily challenges, events and settings work without an account. Your progress, stars, streaks, hint balance and settings are stored on your device.
Signing in with Apple or Google is optional. It lets you sync progress across devices and appear on daily leaderboards. If you sign in, we handle:
Tether can send pseudonymous gameplay events (for example, level started or finished, moves used, hints used and ad outcomes) to Google Firebase Analytics to help us balance puzzles. This is off by default and only runs if you enable “Share pseudonymous usage analytics” in Settings. It never includes your name, email or board layouts, and ad personalisation signals are disabled. You can turn it off at any time.
Tether shows rewarded ads (only when you choose to watch one for a deeper hint) and occasional ads between levels, served by Google AdMob. Google may collect device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), Tether asks for your consent through Google’s consent form before requesting ads, and you can change your choice later in Settings → Ad privacy choices. If a Remove Ads purchase is offered in the future, buying it turns off ads between levels. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps.
Tether currently has no in-app purchases. If they are offered in the future, they will be processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment card details. We would use RevenueCat to validate purchases and keep track of what you own; RevenueCat would receive your Firebase user ID, product IDs and transaction details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed in this policy (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, our hosting provider and, if purchases are offered, RevenueCat) acting for us, or where the law requires it.
Daily leaderboards show your display name, profile mark, moves and stars. Other players never see your email address.
Tether stores your progress, settings, analytics choice and content downloads on your device. If you sign in, Firebase keeps a sign-in token on your device. Uninstalling Tether removes this data.
Network traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication; we never receive your Apple or Google password. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Tether is suitable for a general audience but is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or India’s DPDP Act), you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your information and to withdraw consent. You can change analytics and ad choices and delete your account in the app; for anything else, contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tether changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
