Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Chillara account and what happens to your data.

Delete Your Account in the App

Open Chillara and sign in to the account you want to delete.
Go to Settings and scroll to the bottom.
Tap Delete account.
Enter your password, confirm that you understand it cannot be undone, and tap Delete account permanently.

Deletion happens immediately. You are signed out and the account’s data is removed from the device.

If you want to keep a copy of your records, use Settings → Export backup or Export to Excel before deleting.

Offline Profile

If you use Chillara offline without an account, your data exists only on your device and never reaches our servers. To remove it, uninstall Chillara. You can also delete individual records in the app at any time.

What Is Deleted

Your Chillara account (email address, name and password hash) and sign-in sessions.
All synced records: transactions, categories, loans and payments, goals, recurring rules and subscriptions, credit cards and bill payments, debts and repayments, investments, trades and SIP plans, and preferences.
The account’s data stored on the device you delete it from.

What Is Not Deleted Automatically

Backup or spreadsheet files you exported yourself.
Data on other devices where you are still signed in; it is removed when those devices sign out.
Debts that another Chillara user recorded and shared with you. They belong to that user’s account; the link to you is removed.
Limited records retained where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or dispute resolution, and backups that expire in the ordinary course of system maintenance.

If you cannot access your account, first try Forgot password on the sign-in screen. If that does not help, contact Vexellab through the main website contact page from the email address connected to your account and ask for your Chillara account to be deleted. We will verify the request and delete the account.
