This Privacy Policy explains how Chillara handles your account, the financial records you enter, and the limited technical information needed to run the app.

1. Who We Are

Chillara is a personal finance app operated by Vexellab Solutions LLP (“Vexellab”, “we”, “us”). Chillara helps you track income and expenses, budgets and insights, loans and EMIs, credit cards, money lent to or borrowed from people, subscriptions, savings goals, recurring payments and investments.

2. Offline Use Without An Account

You can use Chillara offline without creating an account. In offline mode your data is stored only on your device and is not sent to us.

3. Information We Collect

When you create an account and sync:

Account information: your email address, an optional name, and your password, which is stored only as a secure one-way hash.
Financial records you enter: transactions, categories, notes, loans and payments, savings goals, recurring rules and subscriptions, credit card names, last four digits, limits and bill payments, people you lend to or borrow from (names, and an email address only if you choose to link someone), investments, trades and SIP plans, and app preferences such as currency, opening balance and payday.
Shared records: if you link a debt to another Chillara user by their email address, they can see the shared entry and its repayments.
Technical information: basic server logs such as IP address, request time and errors, used for security and reliability.

Chillara does not ask for bank logins, card numbers, account numbers or government IDs, and it does not read your SMS or other apps.

4. How We Use Information

To create and secure your account, verify your email address and reset your password.
To store, back up and sync your records across your devices.
To show debts that other users shared with you, when you accept them.
To provide reference exchange rates and investment prices.
To send account emails such as verification and password reset.
To respond to support, privacy and account deletion requests, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.

We do not use your financial records for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

5. Market Prices And Exchange Rates

To value your investments and convert currencies, the app asks the Chillara server for prices by symbol only (for example a stock ticker, a mutual fund scheme code or “gold”). The server fetches prices from public sources such as Yahoo Finance, AMFI and ExchangeRate-API. No personal or account information is sent to these sources.

6. Service Providers

We use providers to operate Chillara, including our hosting provider for servers and databases, Zoho Mail for account emails, Apple and Google for app distribution and on-device notifications. They process information only to provide their services to us.

7. On-Device Data

Your records are also stored in a local database on your device so the app works offline. Reminders and notifications are scheduled on your device. Backup and spreadsheet exports are files you create and control.

8. Security

Connections to our servers are encrypted. Passwords are hashed, sign-in tokens are stored in your device’s secure storage, and each account can access only its own records. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Data Retention

We keep your account and synced records while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and synced records are deleted from our servers. Limited records may be retained where needed for security, legal compliance or dispute resolution, and backups expire in the ordinary course.

10. Your Choices And Rights

Use Chillara offline without an account.
View, edit, export or delete your records in the app at any time.
Delete your account in the app from Settings, or see Account Deletion.
Contact us to access, correct or delete your information.

11. Children

Chillara is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
