Gnos Legal
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This policy explains how Gnos, operated by Vexellab Solutions LLP (“Vexellab”, “we”, “us”), handles information when you browse music, play content, save your library, use discovery features, or contact us.
Gnos is independently developed software. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, YouTube, YouTube Music, or Apple.
Gnos stores the following locally to provide its features:
Saving a collection does not mark its songs as favorites. Collection metadata is separate from explicit favorite selections. Bookmarks and artwork caches are not downloads of music recordings for offline ownership or redistribution.
The current app does not require a Vexellab account and does not include a Vexellab-hosted library-sync, advertising, or analytics backend. Device operating systems may include app data in backups according to your device settings.
Music features require network requests. Providers can receive your IP address, request timing, user-agent/client information, and the content or query requested. Not saving a query in Gnos’s local recent-search list does not prevent a search provider from receiving or retaining the query under its own policy.
These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Relevant references include Google Privacy Policy, YouTube Terms of Service, Wikimedia Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy, and GitHub Privacy Statement, and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Location access is optional and is used for regional music discovery. Gnos uses the device’s permission system and a one-shot location/geocoding flow; it does not request background location access. Coordinates can be sent to the device’s geocoding provider, such as Apple, Google, or another platform provider, to obtain an area name.
Gnos stores the derived broad area, not the coordinates, in its discovery preferences. A cached area may be reused for about a day before another silent check; it may remain available when a later check fails. You can revoke location permission in your device settings. A previously saved broad area can remain until refreshed or app data is removed. Without location access, discovery can use device country settings and general catalog content.
Gnos includes a source-browser component that can initialize during app use. Third-party pages may use cookies, browser storage, or their own analytics and advertising technologies. Browser data can persist across launches.
If you sign into a provider through its page, that provider handles the sign-in. Gnos may use source cookies and session values on the device for requests sent back to that provider. Gnos does not ask you to provide a Google password to Vexellab or upload provider-session credentials to a Vexellab account server. Gnos’s local data controls do not delete your Google account or provider-held data.
If you contact Vexellab, we receive the contact details, messages, and attachments you choose to send. Please avoid sending passwords, signed media URLs, or other secrets. We use support information to respond, diagnose reported problems, maintain the service, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Local app information is used to organize your library, maintain preferences, show recent activity, improve recommendations, and provide the features you request. We do not sell personal information received through Gnos support or operate an app-specific data-broker service.
Saved library information generally remains until you change it, reset the library, or remove app data. Recent-play history and recommendation statistics are bounded local records and can be cleared in Settings. Artwork cache eviction is managed automatically; covers can also be cleared manually and may download again when needed. Temporary source URLs expire and can be refreshed.
Settings includes Clear search history, Clear listening history, Clear artwork cache, and Reset library. These controls affect different data categories. Reset library removes favorites, saved collections, local playlists, and stored collection-track metadata; it does not delete content from YouTube. Clear search history also clears legacy local recent-query records.
To remove remaining preferences, location cache, and browser data, use available device app-data controls or delete the app. On iOS, offloading an app can retain its documents and data; deleting it is different. Device backups or subsequent restoration can restore data. Provider-held information and support messages require separate requests to the relevant provider or Vexellab.
See Your Data & Deletion for practical instructions.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection relating to personal information we hold. Contact us through the link below. Vexellab cannot retrieve or remotely delete library data stored only on your device; use the in-app/device controls for that data. Requests regarding Google or other providers should also be directed to those providers.
Network requests use HTTPS where supported by the app’s source interfaces, and local information is stored in the app’s device storage. No storage or network system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Gnos is a general music application, not a service designed specifically for children. Content may not be suitable for every age. Follow the app store’s age rating, applicable law, and each content provider’s age requirements. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information to Vexellab support without appropriate authorization.
We may update this policy as app behavior or requirements change. The updated date appears above. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
